The Campeche Spiny-tailed Iguana (Ctenosaura alfredschmidti) is a species of lizard in the Iguanidae family. It is endemic to Mexico.However, in the field year of 2005, this species was also recorded in a scientific expedition to the Rio Azul National Park in the Department of Petén in Northern Guatemala. This was the first record in Guatemala's Herpetofauna for this specie.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
